Remembering Mom

I should be on Staten Island today, attending a memorial and celebration of my mother's life. When she died in mid-January, we planned for such an event on this day, which would have been her 93d birthday. But the pandemic has prevented it.

We still intend to have the memorial someday...maybe later this summer, maybe in a year on her next birthday. It depends on what the church and the cemetery (we are going to inter her ashes at that time) can arrange. It depends on when her now far-flung family (three children, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren in six states from New York to California) can make arrangements to attend.

But it will happen, Mom! I promise!
